Cucumber Mint Martini

This is my attempt at our favorite cocktail in Cooperstown, NY: the Norbu Martini. Gin, lemon, cucumber, mint. Best made with the syrup, but muddling works if you're not planning ahead.

Ingredients

4 items
2 ozHendricks Gin
¾ ozfresh lemon juice
¾ ozcucumber mint syrup(see recipe, or use simple syrup and muddle fresh)
1cucumber spear(for garnish)

Method

Chill a martini glass by filling it with ice water while you build the drink.

Add the gin, lemon juice, and cucumber mint syrup to a cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled, about 15 seconds.

Discard the ice water from the glass. Double-strain into the chilled martini glass.

Garnish with a cucumber spear.

Notes

For the muddled version: muddle 4 mint leaves and 3 cucumber slices with the lemon and simple syrup before you add ice and gin. You can do both for an extra minty, cucumbery drink.
